The 2026 Pakistan Super League began with a Wednesday match in Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. Australian cricket fans have a lot to follow this year. A big group of Australian players is heading to the PSL,& each one has a different reason for being there. Some want to get back into the national team. Some need to find their form again. A few just want to show they can still play at this level.
Here is a full breakdown of every Australian in PSL 2026.
Steven Smith: Multan Sultans
Smith had a great BBL season for the Sydney Sixers He scored a magnificent century at the SCG and forced his way into Australia’s T20 World Cup squad. However, he never had a chance to bat. Australia crashed out early,& that must have hurt him. In terms of wanting to play at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, he has spoken about it, a step towards that picture. Multan Sultans are After a Batter Who has Unfinished Business.
David Warner: Karachi Kings
Warner just does not stop. During BBL season 2025–26, the player was Sydney Thunder's leading run-getter with 433 runs having an batting average of 59.3. He scored 200 runs in two games. He played 5 matches for them the previous season. He has scored a century in that PSL. At the age of 39, Warner remains perhaps the world's most destructive T20 opener. Fans of the Kings already have an idea of what he offers.
Glenn Maxwell: Hyderabad Kingsmen
Maxwell is going through a rough patch, & everyone knows it. He scored just 76 runs in eight BBL innings for Melbourne Stars. His T20 World Cup was forgettable too. He managed only 48 IPL runs last season & then did not even enter this year's IPL auction. The PSL feels like a big moment for him. If he finds his rhythm here, it could change the conversation around his international future completely.
Marnus Labuschagne: Hyderabad Kingsmen (Captain)
This is Labuschagne's second appearance in an overseas T20 league after playing in the T20 Blast. Hyderabad Kingsmen has the star Indian player announced as its captain. Many people consider him a Test batter, despite having a seriously good 50-over season for Queensland. The One-Day Cup saw him score four centuries and was named Player of the tournament. The PSL will show a different side of him.
Sam Harper: Quetta Gladiators
Harper is the hottest batter who is coming from Aussie summer. He received the BBL Player of the Tournament after 381 runs at 54.42 as well as a strike rate of 150.7. His score of 110 not out off 60 balls against Sydney Sixers was a best innings. Thereafter, with this technique, he made century after century in the Sheffield Shield. He will join Quetta after the Shield final concludes. This player is showing up full of confidence.
Aaron Hardie: Peshawar Zalmi
Recently, Hardie has not been getting a lot of national attention, but his BBL numbers have been very good. Scorchers’ Cameron Bancroft made 339 runs at a strike rate of 146.12 & took 12 wickets for the team. He is the type of all-rounder capable of altering the match with either bat or ball. The PSL gives him a proper stage to push for a recall ahead of Australia's next big T20 cycle, leading into the Olympics & the home World Cup.
Max Bryant: Islamabad United
Bryant has been talked about as one of Australia's most gifted batters for years now. The talent is obvious. The problem has been consistency. So, during the last 2 BBL matches Brisbane Heat, he showed genuine results, 481 runs at 37.00 with a strike-rate of 158.7. He played for Peshawar Zalmi previous season & has some PSL experience under his belt. Islamabad United will appear perfect for him to be perfect.
Josh Philippe: Multan Sultans
Philippe has worked his way back into Australia's T20 & ODI squads this season. He was part of the Sydney Sixers side that reached the BBL final & also part of the New South Wales team that won the domestic One-Day Cup. He is a wicketkeeper-batter who can play at the top of the order with good tempo. Multan Sultans have picked up a player in decent form & with international experience behind him.
Ashton Turner: Multan Sultans (Captain)
Turner has 19 T20Is under his belt for Australia which feels low to see given his domestic success. This season, in the role of captain, he took Perth Scorchers to BBL title. He has now also walked into the dressing room of Multan Sultans as their captain.Sultans have a very Australian squad, & Turner is the right person to lead it. His lower-order hitting & reading of the game make him a massive asset.
Adam Zampa: Karachi Kings
Zampa is making his PSL debut in 2026, & it has been a long time coming. He had an injury-hit BBL season with Melbourne Renegades but bounced back well in T20Is. He took three four-wicket hauls across seven games against Pakistan & at the T20 World Cup. He knows how Pakistani batters think, & they know how he bowls. That makes for a fascinating contest. Karachi Kings have signed a proper match-winner.
Peter Siddle: Multan Sultans
Where do you even start with Siddle? The 41-year-old man bowls beyond 140kph in BBL for the Melbourne Stars regularly. In total, 16 wickets were taken at 17.00 and an economy of 7.12. It is not a nostalgia pick; it is a pure performance pick based on quality. His collection for the PSL is single of the most famous stories to emerge from the Australian summer. He is a lucky man for the Multan Sultans.
Riley Meredith: Hyderabad Kingsmen
Meredith is one of the quickest bowlers in Australian domestic cricket, full stop. He has now put together two strong BBL seasons back-to-back. It is a bit of a mystery why he has not been given another shot at the national level, given how many injuries Australia has had in its pace bowling group. He played for Islamabad United in PSL 2025, so this is not new territory for him. He will need to create a real statement this time around.
Ben McDermott: Quetta Gladiators
Moreover, McDermott is not done for a state contract, although he still has ambitions to play T20 cricket internationally. He managed to score an impressive BBL with 322 runs. At first, he began the season on a strong note, in the middle it dipped but continued strongly. He can also wicketkeep, which provides extra flexibility in the selection of any side. The Quetta Gladiators have acquired a dependable and experienced performer.
Lachlan Shaw: Multan Sultans
Shaw is the youngest name on this list& one of the most exciting. He has toured with Australia A and shown real promise in white-ball cricket for the Sydney Sixers & New South Wales. He is a wicketkeeper, a brilliant fielder & a batsman with positive intent at the top. At this moment of his career, a PSL campaign could massively help his development. One to watch closely.
Wrapping It Up
PSL 2026 has a serious Australian flavour running through it. Warner brings experience & runs. Maxwell brings a point to prove. Harper arrives red-hot. Labuschagne steps into a leadership role. Siddle, at 41, is just out there doing what he has always done.
Every single one of these players has a story going into March 26. Some will leave Pakistan with their reputations boosted. Some will find the form they had lost. Some players will make everyone remember the very reason they were selected to the team.
Gaddafi Stadium hosts cricket on March 26, and it will be worth watching.
